Hello and welcome to our website for the Colonel Joseph Glover Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) in Walterboro, South Carolina! We are made up of a lovely variety of ladies who hold the common values of God, country, and family.
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) was originally founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, DC. We are a volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children. Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.
The Colonel Joseph Glover Chapter, NSDAR, was organized March 24, 1962, in Walterboro, Colleton County, South Carolina. The chapter is named for Colonel Joseph Glover. Read more about him here.
Our chapter meets from September through May of every year. We take a break from June through August over the summer. We enjoy a wide range of programs and speakers.
